Five Curtain Calls for American Pianist in Russia
Russian News- Volgograd (formerly Stalingrad)
June 2005

"American pianist Teresa Walters performed as guest soloist with the Volgograd Philharmonic at Central Concert Hall on Sunday, May 29. In a performance of Sergei Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, the distinguished pianist received five curtain calls following her performance. In an unusual departure from protocol, the audience burst into applause at the conclusion of the first movement alone. After the finale, as the pianist made her first bows, the audience erupted in rhythmic honor applause. The Volgograd Philharmonic, under the direction of Maestro Edward Serov, has in recent years extended invitations to preeminent soloists from around the world."
