“For nearly three decades the Nielsen Concert Series has delivered music to students, faculty, staff, alumni and the wider community as a gift of harmony in a time of discord. The series was founded in 1981 to honor past president Ernest Nielsen. The October concert featured the internationally acclaimed concert pianist Teresa Walters. Walters played very expressively and the audience thoroughly appreciated her superb performance. One listener said, “Teresa would read a poem or describe imagery between each song for the audience to close their eyes and visualize as the music was performed.”

Not only did the audience have the opportunity to hear her perform, they also enjoyed meeting the artist after the concert. One student noted: “It is such a thrill to experience this professional performer grace our stage with such exemplary musicianship.”
