Glorious Concert "It will be hard to top last weekend. Saturday night's Spring Concert finale by the Ottumwa Symphony Orchestra was delightful and made truly special by the lovely music provided by the orchestra members and guest soloist Teresa Walters. Maestro Tony Chang selected two wonderful works by Tchaikovsky and by Brahms. Pianist Teresa Walters played Tchaikovsky's brilliant Piano Concerto No. 1 in fine fashion. The entire audience was enthralled and rose as one to give an enthusiastic standing ovation as the last chord sounded. She was lovely and gracious and met everyone at the reception following at Hotel Ottumwa. With her cosmopolitan charm, it was a surprise to learn that she grew up on a farm in the Midwest and that some of her family members could attend this concert." |
