Virtuoso Pianist in Concert
WV Middleton Fine Arts Center
September 25, 2006

"Claflin University is pleased to announce a performance by virtuoso pianist Teresa Walters on September 28th at 7:30 pm in the Daniel Moss Auditorium of Middleton Fine Arts Center. Austrian National Television describes Teresa Walters as "one of the world's most significant pianists. Teresa Walters is that rare musical phenomenon - a pianist born to the instrument. With a virtuoso's vision and a poet's soul, she creates magic with the music."

The Washington Post writes: "Teresa Walters is a splendid musician whose marvelous technical prowess and rich expressive resources create music of intimate introspection, orchestral grandeur, and the most minute inflections of color."

In great demand for both solo recitals and for her performances as guest artist with orchestras, Walters is a popular favorite who is rapidly becoming one of the most widely traveled concert pianists in history. In recent seasons, she has performed as recitalist and orchestral soloist on six continents and in most of the 50 United States.

The American Record Guide has announced: "Her competition is virtually nil." Her biography could be written from headlines alone: "Teresa Walters Plays Piano on Grand Scale" (The Cincinnati Inquirer); "Her Hands Create Cascades of Luminescence (The Washington Post); "A Liszt of Very Fine Performances" (Budapest Sun); "Concert Simfonic Extraordinaire" (Budapest Stagiunea); "Bright Shining Star in Recital" (El Norte, Mexico). Her concerts this season are part of an intense international schedule that includes performances throughout North and South America, Europe and Asia. This season celebrates brilliant debuts in Manila, Hong Kong and the Caribbean and return orchestral engagements in Russia which received 5 curtain calls."
