International Highlights 2022
Distinguished American pianist Teresa Walters looks forward to her active international touring schedule after pandemic restrictions. Described as the International First Lady of Piano by the New York Times, Walters travels to Europe for performances in coming weeks and again in Spring 2023. Her artistic focus this season is her program A Celebration of Hope and Healing featuring a variety of Romantic composers. “The world has never needed more the inspiration, power and perspective of great music,” she notes.

International First Lady of Piano Performs in Newport
Teresa Walters has performed on six continents and all over the U.S. in venues including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York, Wigmore Hall in London, Moscow’s Great Hall and the Salle Cortot in Paris. She will perform selections by 19th Century Hungarian composer Franz Liszt and Russian composers Glinka and Balakirev on the historic Bluthner Concert Grand unique to Trinity. Austrian National Television calls Teresa Walters “one of the world’s most significant pianists.” The American Record Guide wrote of her: “Walters’s competition is virtually nil.” She is the first American pianists invited to present three anniversary concerts in honor of Liszt’s birthday with performances at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music and the Liszt Museum in Budapest, Liszt’s Birthplace in Raiding, and at Esterhazy Palace under the patronage of Prince Anton Esterhazy.”

She has performed as a recitalist and orchestral soloist on six continents and throughout the fifty United States. She is also the first American pianist invited to perform at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music & Museum in Budapest. A native of the American Midwest, Walters earned a doctorate from Peabody Conservatory and has lived most of her adult life in the New York City area. The concert is presented with the support of the Ohio Arts Council, the Scioto Foundation and the Ohio Medical Center.”
