College Concert Series Begins Sept. 25 “A concert by world-renowned concert pianist Teresa Walters will be Sunday, Sept. 25 at 3 p.m. in Norton Chapel at Keuka College. Known for her commitment to music as the ultimate universal language, and for her vision of music as ministry, Teresa earned a doctorate from Peabody Conservatory. Dr. Walters has performed as recitalist and orchestral soloist on six continents, and in most of the 50 United States, at venues including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Wigmore Hall in London, the Salle Cortot in Paris, Moscow’s Great Hall, Copenhagen’s Hungarian Embassy, Australia’s International Conservatorium, Beijing’s Forbidden City Concert Hall, and Jerusalem’s Concert Hall. She has also performed at Vienna’s Beethoven Festival and at Spanish music festivals in Barcelona and Madrid. With her reputation as one of the finest interpreters of Liszt performing and recording today, Teresa is the first American pianist invited to present three anniversary concerts in honor of Franz Liszt’s birthday and the Liszt Bicentennial. She has performed at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, the Liszt Museum in Budapest, Liszt’s Birthplace in Raiding, Hungary (now Austria) and at Esterhazy Palace under the patronage of Prince Anton Esterhazy. In addition to maintaining an extensive international touring schedule, Teresa is recording a series of releases featuring the sacred piano works of Liszt. Her recordings have received nominations for the Grand Prix du Disque of the Hungarian Liszt Society. |
