November 16, 2012
"Two thumbs way up for International First Lady of Piano Teresa Walters who graces stages on Colorado’s Front Range this weekend in two performances. Her generosity will benefit United Way in donations to Faith Family Hospitality Network in Fort Collins and Angel House in Loveland. These Interfaith community organizations provide housing, meals and support for families facing homelessness. Walters is an International Steinway Artist. Schmitt Music of Denver will donate the Concert Steinway for Walters’s performances.
Teresa Walters will speak to the audience in her program Musical Cameos: Great Composers and Well-Loved Masterworks. She is a familiar face on the world’s greatest concert stages, and performs in New York’s Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall in London, the Salle Cortot in Paris, and the Great Hall of Moscow. She earned her Doctorate from Peabody Conservatory and was awarded an international fellowship for a year of study abroad at the Paris Conservatoire. In recent seasons, she has performed as recitalist and orchestral soloist on six continents and in most of the 50 United States."
