March 2, 2011

“Teresa Walters, internationally recognized pianist, will perform at the Arkell Museum on Sunday, March 6 at 4 p.m. The recital will feature piano music of Franz Liszt, renowned for his skill as a pianist and considered by many to be the greatest pianist of all time. Walters is scheduled to perform around the world during 2011 in honor of the Liszt Bicentennial including Copenhagen’s Hungarian Embassy and Beijing’s National Center for Performing Arts.

Known as “The International First Lady of Piano”, Teresa Walters is described by Austrian National Television as “that rare musical phenomenon” and “one of the world’s most significant pianists.” She is the first American pianist invited by Hungary to present the Anniversary Concert in honor of Liszt’s birthday. Prestigious invitations to perform at the Liszt Academy of Music and the Liszt Museum in Budapest as well as at Liszt’s Birthplace in Raiding and at Esterhazy Palace attest to her growing reputation as one of the finest interpreters of Liszt performing and recording today. In fact, the American Record Guide announces: “Her competition is virtually nil.” Tickets are available by calling the Arkell Museum.”
